DIGITAL PLATFORM

Ubumuntu Digital Platform is an online educational platform developed by Aegis Trust to support the delivery and expansion of its peace education programmes in Rwanda and beyond. A wide range of users, including teachers, youth, students, parents, researchers and policy-makers benefit from this platform’s curated interactive contents, designed to help them acquire skills and attitudes about peace and positive values. With such valuable knowledge and skills, we invite platform’s users to apply them in their areas of influence, to help make change towards sustainable peace in their communities. The development of this digital platform has generously been funded by The Embassy of The Kingdom of Belgium in Rwanda.

Meet our team of passionate and committed professionals

MANAGEMENT

The Aegis Trust management team oversees strategic-level discussions and day-to-day operations to ensure that the existing projects, including education and research programmes are being effectively implemented.

EDUCATION DEPARTMENT

The Education department is comprised of professional educators dedicated to train and follow-up with teachers, parents and youth on Peace and Values Education.

RESEARCH, DOCUMENTATION AND POLICY ENGAGEMENT

The Research, Documentation and Policy Engagement Department is comprised of content developers who are passionate about researching, creating, documenting, preserving and providing access to educational content on Peace and Values Education.

COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT

The Communications department is comprised of professional staff responsible for overseeing internal and external communication activities as well as the visibility of Aegis Trust.

Aegis Trust
The Aegis Trust is a British NGO which campaigns for and works to prevent genocide and mass atrocities worldwide. Aegis Trust has been present in Rwanda since 2004. It currently operates at the Kigali Genocide Memorial (KGM) and has established a modern Archive and Documentation Centre to undertake genocide memory preservation and support the on-going learning, teaching and understanding of the history of 1994 genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda.
Kigali Genocide Memorial
The Kigali Genocide Memorial is the final resting place for more than 250,000 victims of the Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. It honours the memory of the more than one million Rwandans killed in 1994 through education and peace building.
