All material including, text, images, audio and video clips, and other content on this website is the property of Aegis Trust. Copyrights and other proprietary rights may also be owned by individuals and entities other than, or in addition to, Aegis Trust. 

Aegis Trust allows personal, educational, and other noncommercial uses of our Ubumuntu Digital Platform online content on the following terms:

  • Users must also cite and link to, when possible, the Ubumuntu Digital Platform as the source of the content.
  • None of the content may be altered or modified.
  • Users may not remove any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices associated with the content.
  • Users must comply with all other terms or restrictions which may be applicable to the individual file, image or text.

Any unauthorized commercial publication or exploitation of text, images or content of this website is prohibited. 

Aegis Trust Education Department endeavors to provide information that it possesses about the copyright status of the content, and to identify any other terms and conditions that may apply to the use of the content, such as trademark, privacy or publicity rights, or donor or other contractual restrictions. However, in some cases it has been extremely difficult to identify all potential copyright holders. Aegis Trust Education department has made all reasonable efforts to ensure copyright holders’ interests are respected and permission is sought where it is feasible to do so, but we cannot guarantee to have traced or contacted every potential rights-holder.

In order to reduce the risk to rights-holders, all potentially in-copyright material that we have digitised and made available online is accessible under a non-commercial license. Furthermore, all of our online collections are subject to a takedown policy. If we are contacted by a potential rights-holder we will remove the material in question from our website until we have been able to evaluate the case, and if appropriate we will ensure that the material is removed temporarily or permanently from our website. This also applies to cases in which rights-holders who have previously given permission wish to retract it for any reason.

Any comments, suggestions, newly uploaded materials from the end users must not be offensive, miseducating, genocide denying, or /and misleading the reality of the genocide perpetrated against the Tutsi in Rwanda. Rather, peace education related materials must be welcomed on this platform.
These terms and conditions to use the Ubumuntu Digital Platform take effect from the official launch of the platform.
